Report: Russia, Turkey may postpone construction of Turkish Stream
MOSCOW, Jun 30 (PRIME) -- The construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline may be postponed because of a lack of agreement on gas prices, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday citing sources with knowledge of the situation.
Russian gas giant Gazprom and Turkey’s Botas were to agree on gas prices by Monday, but the agreement may be postponed at least until October, Bloomberg said.
In December 2014, Gazprom and Turkish company Botas signed a memorandum to construct the gas pipeline with an annual capacity of 63 billion cubic meters.
Russia decided to construct the Turkish Stream, a pipeline that will run under the Black Sea to the Turkey–Greece border to replace the scrapped South Stream pipeline, which was supposed to carry Russian gas to Europe bypassing Ukraine.
